holy shit I got a free NordVPN subscription and their macOS client installs an endpoint kernel extension that just hangs around after an uninstall. There was a constant com.nordvpn.macos.Shield process.

I had to boot into recovery and disable SIP to get rid of it. Part of that is on macOS that it allows to install extensions but systemextensionsctl can't uninstall them.

But still, this is malware-grade behavior; especially given how sketch they are in general.

Ende September begann ein ausgeprägter Einflug Sibirischer Tannenhäher, der zuerst in Finnland sichtbar wurde und später bis zu uns vordrang, so dass diese außergewöhnlichen Vögel auch in Deutschland beobachtet werden können. Die Invasionen treten vor allem wegen Nahrungsmangel auf, also wenn es im Herkunftsgebiet an Samen mangelt oder es einen außergewöhnlich hohen Bruterfolg gab.
Nun gab es die ersten Meldungen aus Niedersachsen und Nordrhein-Westfalen und es bleibt sehr spannend, wie weit der Zug noch in den Süden und Westen vordrängt.
Es ist vermutlich der stärkste Tannenhäher-Einflug seit mehr als 30 Jahren.
